On this small page, you will find everything you need to know about playing darts at the Max Taps Highlands Ranch Location. Scroll down to find times and rules for blind draw tournaments. At the bottom of this page is a form where you can submit your information to become a Friend of Max Taps Darts.
When
Max Taps hosts blind draw dart tournaments every Wednesday beginning at 7:00 PM. Our blind draws are unique, in that they take two weeks to complete. Max Taps closes at 10, ensuring that everyone gets home at a decent hour in time to see their families. The dart boards at Max Taps are open all the time, but on Wednesdays are reserved for the blind draw tournaments beginning at 6:00 PM.
What is a blind draw?
A blind draw is a tournament in which teams of two are randomly picked. So you never know who your partner will be!
Rules of the tournament:
• The format is the best of 3 games to complete a match. Each match consists of one game of 501, one game of cricket, and the third game which is chosen by the winner of the cork ("corking" is throwing one dart each at the bullseye; whoever is closest, wins). Any person from a team may cork against any other person from the other team. It is not required that all team members cork.
• The tournament is double elimination. The best of three games style match is used in both the winners bracket and the losers bracket.
• The first place team receives 50% of the pot. The 2nd place team receives 30% of the pot. The 3rd place team receives 20% of the pot. Max taps also contributes $55 in gift cards to be distributed amongst the three winning teams.
• The cost to enter a blind draw on Wednesdays is $10 per person with an optional $1 to be entered into the mystery out game which has a rolling pot.
• The mystery out game requires that all players record their 501 outs with the tournament runner. At the end of every tournament a random number will be drawn, if it matches the outs recorded by any of the players during that tournament, the player wins the pot.
• During the second week of any given tournament if a player is a no show, any person who is not currently playing in the blind draw can pay an additional $10 to be entered to take the empty spot. If there are multiple players who wish to take the empty spot, numbers will be randomly drawn.
